Terms of use
These terms apply when you use DocShape at docshape.io to convert a PDF bank statement. How your data is handled is described in the privacy policy.
The service
DocShape reads a PDF bank statement, extracts its transactions and checks them against balances and totals printed on the statement. It produces an Excel workbook and CSV files. The public beta is free and needs no account. A separate private beta is open only to invited testers.
DocShape is offered to consumers and businesses. If you use it as a consumer: the public beta is free. You may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of your upload without giving a reason, as described below.
What you may upload
Before each upload, you are asked to confirm:
I confirm I’m authorized to upload this statement and understand it will be temporarily processed to create the requested export.
Upload only statements you are entitled to share, such as your own or ones you handle with the account holder’s permission. The public beta accepts one text-based PDF at a time:
- A PDF bank statement whose pages contain selectable text, the kind a bank offers as a download. Up to 10 MB and 8 pages.
- Scanned or photographed statements are refused: no text recognition (OCR) is used.
- No external AI service is used to convert statements. DocShape reads the statement itself.
- A layout DocShape cannot read reliably is refused with a reason, never guessed at. The same PDF will be refused again.
- Free conversions are limited, and are paused or unavailable at times.
Using DocShape fairly
Please do not:
- try to get around the upload, page or usage limits, or overload the service;
- try to open a conversion you were not given the access key for;
- upload anything that is not a bank statement, or that you may not share.
DocShape enforces its limits automatically and may refuse requests that exceed them.
What a result means
Support is best-effort: many statements will not convert yet.
Verified means the extracted amounts add up: they reconcile arithmetically with balances or totals DocShape read from the statement.
It does not independently confirm that every transaction was captured, or that any individual row, date or description is correct. It does not establish that the account is yours, and it cannot exclude errors that cancel each other out arithmetically. Check the export against your statement before relying on it.
DocShape does not give financial, tax or accounting advice, and a converted file does not replace the statement issued by your bank.
If you are a consumer
A contract for the conversion is made when you upload a statement. It costs nothing, and the conversion starts straight away.
Right of withdrawal. You may withdraw from that contract within 14 days of your upload, without giving a reason. To do so, tell the operator by email at info@eidalabs.com, or by post, before the 14 days end. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to. Withdrawing costs you nothing. Your statement and its results are deleted about an hour after upload in any case, and you can delete them sooner with “Delete now”. The job record kept afterwards is described in the privacy policy.
Model withdrawal form (complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract)
